PART K: REFLECTION ON THE DESIGN PROJECT
Carries Reflection and Recommendations:
When I look back to where we started in October I am shocked on how far we have come. I am very proud of our group and of how well we did on the presentation. I did not realize in the beginning on how in depth and time consuming our capstone would be. I am glad we picked a problem that we were interested in because I think that we would have gone off track if we didn't. Most of the first weeks were spent rehearsing and doing paperwork. While this was not fun, it did teach us the importance and necessity of doing so. It was very interesting and fun to make a prototype on inventor and 3D print it. It was also really cool to 'reverse engineering' existing scoops and coat them in silicone. I am very happy that our design worked and I am very pleased on how everything turned out.
My recommendations for future students would be to start with a problem and pick something that you are interested in. Make sure you meet your deadlines and work during class. The presentations will come quicker than you think, so make sure you were prepared. Get your prototype done because it will need to be revised and tested. Also, do not rely on people or things to work out because things always fall through.
I really loved this project and having the ability to do it with your friends and classmates makes it worthwhile. I will really miss the class and Mrs. Z and I will always remember this experience.

Marleys Reflection and Recommendations:
I think our project went really well. Our presentation went great. All our hard work baking cookies and memorizing lines really paid off. And even though we didn't finish our final prototype until the very last minute, it worked beautifully. It stinks that all our manufacturing companies fell through, but we found a way to make it work anyway. It's crazy to see how far we've come since October when we started this project. I'm very proud of us and all we accomplished with this project.
To other students, I would recommend that they stay on time. Don't procrastinate and don't waste time. It's hard sometimes to find the motivation to actually do work, but do it anyway. The prototype is very important, so get to work on that asap. Don't leave everything until the last minute and make sure you get your entire group together to work on your presentation in person.

Sams Reflection and Recommendations:
Overall, I am VERY pleased with how our project turned out, but I am very glad that it's over. I am very happy that we picked a topic that we all liked and could tolerate for three months. We did very well on our presentation and am happy that we practiced it as much as we did. The whole process was so much fun and I am so glad that I got paired with two of my best friends. It was really interesting to watch the design process come to life from start to finish. I really loved this and am going to miss this program and these teachers so incredibly much. Want some advice? Here you go:
1. Pick your project partners wisely
2. Pick a topic that you love
3. Start your prototyping and testing early
4. Keep a detailed notebook
5. Practice your presentation. And then practice some more.
